PAD10 Architects' finalist design interlaces KFAS's new HQ and Convention Center along Kuwait’s coast, forming a "Science Mile" linking the Scientific Center, promenade, and a new pedestrian bridge into a shaded public plaza.

The HQ rises gradually from 3 to 8 floors, blending with its green surroundings and offering sea views without overshadowing neighbor @pearlmarzook. A vaulted liwan welcomes visitors into distinct wings, including a rooftop garden.

The design navigates the site’s contours with a dynamic, ascending form—anchored at key points to house essential internal programs while opening outward to capture layered perspectives.

From the grounded intimacy of the street-level entry to the elevated openness of the rooftop lounge, the house orchestrates a continuous spatial experience, culminating in a panoramic view of Kuwait City’s skyline. This deliberate interplay between enclosure and openness defines a home that is both rooted and far-reaching—where architecture and landscape merge in one sweeping motion.

@pad10 entry for the Manarat Al-Khafji gracefully extends from the corniche, with its undulating shading roof echoing the natural rhythms of the Arabian Gulf. The rippling roof mirrors the waves it overlooks, while a towering lighthouse crowns the structure, symbolizing both a beacon and a landmark. This lighthouse serves as a conduit for cultural expression, anchoring Khafji to the vast Gulf beyond, and guiding visitors toward the infinite horizon. The project shifts seamlessly in scale, bridging the local with the monumental, transcending stylistic boundaries and blending regional heritage with universal resonance.

An award winning project to the Royal Commission o

An award winning project to the Royal Commission of AlUla for the invited competition of 100 Architects for 100 Houses: A primordial interpretation of the landscape, flipped upside-down, wraps around the program with gradualness; from “closed” to “open” and from “private” to “public”. The interplay between architecture and nature, from the mythically internalized to the majestically sublime, reveals an eloquence of symbiotic coexistence with the landscape.

Reinterpreting, at onset, Past Traditions from existing Al-Ula dwelling prototypes to fit the Present Narrative of Himaya Program, where locals host travelling guests. The “Himaya Guesthouse” is a 2-family dwelling. It has the local family living in elevated grounds, accessed by inset ones, while the guest family occupying loosely the ground level. The overall structure integrates with and frames, rather than obstructs, the majestic landscape around.
Formally, the canopied structure sprouts above the shaded ground underneath, akin to the Acacia trees, native to Al-Ula. Structurally, the dwelling’s cut-out soil constitutes the majority of its 3d-printed material; the eco-friendly construction is further optimized by Design-Direct-to-3D-Print.

A Museum in the Park: Seamlessly integrating with

A Museum in the Park: Seamlessly integrating with Linnanpuisto Castle Park, the museum extends the park towards the waterfront, elevating into a cascaded open theater with the castle as a backdrop. Rather than merely occupying the site, the building canopies over it, transforming the waterfront walkway into an extended parkway.
Engaging Surroundings: The museum, a multi-level park, physically and culturally enriches its surroundings. It offers higher vantage points towards the landscape, Turku’s Castle, the river Aura, the port/ferry terminal, and the island of Ruissalo.
Interactive Exhibition Levels: The exhibition levels gracefully dip down while the landscape swells up, creating opportunities for visitors and residents to access outdoor performance areas at multiple levels, each offering varied enriching programs.
Reflecting Tradition: The wooden cladded museum’s envelope is a metaphor reflecting the Finnish shipbuilding tradition and history. From below, the structure resembles the hulls of ships, and the roof decks extend the experience.
A Vibrant Green Park: The green roofs and terraces transform into a vibrant park that connects back to the natural elements of the site. The museum lifts itself up to become a catalyst to its surroundings, rather than an end to them.
